Bill came to us a week before the house was open, asking if we had room for him to stay, as he had no place to go. We did not have a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) on the house yet so he couldn't stay at the house, however we were able to find a bed for him at a nearby 3/4 house for a few days. Before we took him to the 3/4 house, he dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. The day we obtained the CO, he moved in along with two friends. They immediately began attending church (Bethesda Christian Church) and signed up for Catechism. During the time Bill was staying at the house, he was also court ordered to attend counseling, parenting classes and probation appointments. He was faithful to make every church meeting he could along with all of his other appointments. His motivation for all of this was not only to maintain his sobriety and deepen his walk with Christ but also to gain custody of his 2 year old daughter. After a few months of faithful attendance and good reports from his caseworker, the judge said that if Bill could gain a residence for himself and maintain a full time job for one month, then the judge would give him custody. One month and two days before he was to go see the judge, without a residence or a job, he was offered an upstairs flat by a lady that needed some work done on her house. She said that he would be able to live there rent free for a few months, if he worked on her house. Also, the night of his confirmation party, he was offered a full time job by one of the elders of the church. He was able to go see the judge, tell him he had a residence and a full time job. True to his word, the judge granted him custody. A little girl got her daddy back and Bill learned that God is always faithful and on time.
